Tottenham legend mocks West Ham chairman on Twitter with funny response

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham have an intense London rivalry, with each always determined to get one over on the other at any opportunity.

However, it appears as if Spurs legend, Graham Roberts, has won this round for the Lilywhites, as he called out West Ham chairman David Gold on Twitter.

David Gold tweeted out a message stating that West Ham boasted the cheapest season ticket in the Premier League at £320 (Mirror).

In contrast, the cheapest season ticket available to adults at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium is a whopping £795.

Graham Roberts wasn’t about to let Gold and West Ham get one up on Tottenham though, as he responded with a witty comment about Hammers fans needing binoculars to watch the match.

The Olympic Stadium famously includes a running track, meaning that even front row fans are some distance from the pitch, a stark contrast to the new Spurs ground.

Roberts 1-0 Gold.

  1. The London Stadium is a great venue for football; no one will be complaining this season as the Hammers will be out-performing their over-mortgaged & consequently cash-strapped neighbours to the north. Not sure what the “New White Hart Lane” (yawn, that’s an original moniker), payments, running costs and retrofitting will require, but you can be sure it is a “Haller-valot” more than the London Stadium cost West Ham per year. I expect another great win by the Hammers at the cocknball stadium this season – let’s go with “Fornal” to West Ham… I do hear there is some transfer news coming from the Lillywhites…(another intimidating name…); Trippier is leaving for Athletico…oh well, following the Arsenal template.
