Journalist Matt Law has been criticised on Twitter by former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts after suggesting Manchester United should keep pursuing a move for Harry Kane this summer.
The ongoing uncertainty over Kane’s future at Tottenham has fed an array of rumours over recent months, with a number of top clubs being linked to the 29-year-old.
Kane has been with Spurs his whole career, but now has just one year left on his current contract. There is talk that the striker may look to leave the club in search of silverware.
Among those believed to be interested in Harry Kane are PSG (Foot Mercato), Chelsea (The Athletic), and Real Madrid (AS). Manchester United, meanwhile, have reportedly ended their pursuit of the England captain (The Guardian).
However, the Red Devils have been encouraged to get back in the race by the Telegraph’s Matt Law, and his words have angered some.
Graham Roberts thinks Matt Law is out of order
After Law wrote a piece for the Telegraph on why Manchester United should make a move for Kane, former Spurs star Graham Roberts sent some stern words to the journalist on Twitter.
Roberts said: “Why are you trying to sell [Harry Kane]? He’s under contract and will stay at [Tottenham Hotspur]
for at least one more season maybe more. You are out of order pushing to get him to Man Utd.”

Law had yet to respond to Roberts at the time of writing.
Spurs Web Opinion
No Spurs fan wants to see Harry Kane leave this summer, and so it’s understandable that Roberts has gotten so frustrated at the perceived meddling of Law in the matter.
However, a journalist has the right to put their opinion out there and it’s unlikely that Law’s words are going to drastically alter the situation one way or the other.
