Tottenham legend urges club to make a move for Bayern Munich star

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Ramon Vega has claimed on Twitter that the club should look to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, even if it was just for a couple of seasons.

The Poland international has, unsurprisingly, picked up from where he left off last campaign, scoring five goals in his opening three Bundesliga matches.

He added a chunk of those goals to his tally on Saturday, recording a stunning hat-trick in Bayern’s 5-0 demolition of Hertha Berlin at Allianz Arena.

Despite his fast start to the season, Lewandowski recently caused a stir regarding his future in Bavaria. He reportedly would be keen on trying a new challenge, and wouldn’t be against signing for another European club before he turns 35-years-old.

The major stumbling block is that Bayern value him at over £100 million, which may put off many of Europe’s biggest sides, given he recently celebrated his 33rd birthday.

One club that is not in need of an elite striker, though, is Spurs, after their prized asset Harry Kane confirmed his immediate future in north London, following a summer of transfer speculation to Manchester City.

But despite that confirmation, former Spurs right-back Vega posted a cheeky message on social media, hinting that his former club should make a move for the Polish forward following his hat-trick against Hertha.

It would be insanely entertaining to watch a forward partnership of Kane and Lewandowski, just to see how many goals they would get between them.

Although it is not going to happen, it is going to be interesting to see who would make an offer for Lewandowski, as it looks like he isn’t slowing down in the goal-scoring department any time soon.
