Tottenham look to sign ex-Chelsea star

Tottenham became the first ever Premier League club not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window this year.

However, with a dwindling squad hit by injury, Pochettino may be forced to dip into the January transfer market.

One player Spurs are said to be keeping tabs on is Bournemouth and ex-Chelsea defender Nathan Ake.

The Daily Star report that Tottenham are keen on signing the 23-year-old in January, as Jan Vertonghen is now thought to be out injured for a number of months, as reported by The Sun.

Toby Alderweireld is also an uncertainty beyond the end of this season, as the Belgian still only has one year left on his current deal.

Bournemouth and Eddie Howe are said to be desperate to keep Ake and build a team around him, and are therefore unlikely to sell unless a big offer comes in.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on the young centre back.
