Tottenham have made a decision on the future of Heung-min Son, with fresh reports revealing the club’s firm stance following their Champions League qualification.
After a decade-long stay at Tottenham Hotspur, Heung-min Son finally reached a long-standing goal of his, winning a major honour in the Lilywhite shirt of Tottenham.
The last few days have been both emotional and joyful for the Spurs captain, who has led this group of Tottenham players to silverware, ending the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy and their 41-year wait for a European title.
Son declared himself a legend of Tottenham Hotspur after the club’s Europa League win against Manchester United at the San Mames Stadium in Spain, and with the season now over, talks about his future have begun to surface.

Tottenham plan to keep Heung-min Son despite Saudi interest
Just days before the Europa League final, an interesting update on Son’s future emerged amidst interest from Saudi Arabia.
It was revealed that despite being linked with a move away from Tottenham, there is a strong possibility that Heung-min Son remains at Spurs beyond this summer.
Now, a fresh report from Football Insider has stated that Spurs are planning to keep the Tottenham captain at the club beyond the end of the season.
This update comes from Pete O’Rourke, who told Football Insider that the Lilywhites are keen on keeping the Korean at Hotspur Way. He said: “It is fair to say it has not been his best season. There is no getting away from that. Probably the reason he did not start the Europa League final was due to a lack of match fitness.
“Maybe Postecoglou was a bit worried about throwing Son into such a big game, having not played too many games since his return from injury.
“I still think he has got a role to play at Tottenham, he is the club captain and Spurs took up the option in January to extend his contract until 2026.
“With Champions League football on the menu at Tottenham next season, they will be keen to keep hold of such an experienced player.”
Spurs captain Heung-min Son eyeing redemption after tough season
Heung-min Son did have a rather subpar campaign last season, with the winger grabbing just 11 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances for Tottenham.
While those numbers are far from the Tottenham captain’s usual heights, Son still ranked joint-second for goal involvements at Spurs last campaign – only Dominic Solanke registered more, with 24 goal contributions.
It was an up-and-down season for Spurs, which meant many of their players struggled. The Spurs captain would, of course, be determined to improve on the previous season, should he remain at Hotspur Way next season when Tottenham play Champions League football.
