Tottenham man due to complete move away today

With all the bad news about Tottenham’s recent injuries to Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, Lucas Moura, and the absence of Heung Min Son, one Spurs player has slipped under the radar.

At a time when Spurs now only have one fit senior central midfielder, Mousa Dembele is due to complete his move to the Chinese Super League today (Standard).

The Belgian midfield man will move to Guangzhou for a fee of around £9m, after 324 appearances in English football.

Dembele has been the epitome of Pochettino’s project at Tottenham, and has been the driving force in that Spurs midfield since the Argentine arrived.

One of the most naturally gifted players ever to grace the White Hart Lane pitch, Dembele’s injuries have finally started to get the better of him.

It’s fair to say that Spurs are unlikely to see another player like him for a long time, as there simply aren’t many of that brick wall ballerina style out there.

What a player. And what great memories he leaves us with.
