Tottenham man is all smiles in training ahead of potential return to the side

Giovani Lo Celso has taken to social media to post images of himself training yesterday with his Tottenham teammates ahead of the Europa League clash against Dinamo Zagreb in what could be a potential hint that he is about to make a comeback to the side.

Lo Celso has not featured for Tottenham since picking up a hamstring injury in Spurs’ 2-0 loss to Leicester in December.

That was the second major injury the Argentine has suffered this season on the back of picking up a thigh muscle strain at the start of the campaign.

The 24-year-old’s injury owes have prevented him from building on what as a promising first season at Spurs after joining the club from Real Betis in the summer of 2019.

Jose Mourinho confirmed before the game that Lo Celso trained well from Monday to Wednesday but he admitted that the midfielder is not yet ready to play 90 minutes.

Here’s what Lo Celso posted on Twitter before the Spurs squad flew to Zagreb for the second leg:

As Jose alluded to in his press conference yesterday, having Lo Celso back will increase the competition for places and push the other midfielders to be on their A-game. Ndombele has let his standards drop over the past few weeks and perhaps the Frenchman will be motivated to perform now that his place in the side is potentially under threat from the Argentine.
