Tottenham man jokes that despite his innocent look he is working hard on aggressiveness

It has been one hell of a season for Tottenham central defender Juan Foyth, as he has managed to significantly increase his game time for Spurs, as well as being regularly called up for his country.

It was a slow start to Foyth’s Tottenham career, but he has since showed flashes of promise in a Lilywhite shirt, as well as the odd sketchy moment.

For a 21-year-old defender he looks like an incredible prospect though, and one Pochettino will surely stick with in the future.

However, the Argentine centre back isn’t perhaps what you would imagine when thinking of a player in that position.

He looks rather slight, innocent, and has a face far younger than his 21-years. Not exactly the kind of figure that would breathe fear into an opposition striker.

However, Foyth claims that he is working on becoming more aggressive as a defender, and ex-Argentine centre back Pochettino has been helping him with this.

Foyth told Marca: “[I’m] more technical, but I’m working hard on my aggressiveness. And I think I’m improving it little by little.

“He [Poch] was a central defender and gives me very good tips to be better, more aggressive.”

When the news outlet pointed out that he didn’t have a centre back’s ‘bad face’ he said: “It’s true that I do not have it, but when being bad on the court, it’s perfect [laughs]. Now I have a scar so it’s changed a bit.”
