Tottenham man set for first start since October 6

According to a report by the Guardian, Pochettino is set to hand Danny Rose his first start since October 6.

Rose returned from a lengthy injury spell a week ago and has yet to start a match, although he did feature for ten minutes against Arsenal at the weekend.

A home fixture against Southampton may be the perfect scenario to ease Rose back into first team football.

It also gives Poch a chance to hand Ben Davies a well earned rest, as the Welshman has played nearly every game since Rose’s injury.

Rose is a far more powerful and pacey wing back than Davies, something that may prove useful against Southampton in terms of getting in behind.

Having Rose back for the Christmas period is a great boost for Spurs, as Poch will surely look to rotate his fullbacks pretty often due to fixture congestion.

How glad are you to see Danny back and fit?
