Tottenham may have to choose between two current stars of the club

Tottenham Hotspur became the first ever Premier League side not to make a single new signing in a whole season this year, but that could be the least of their troubles.

This squad has actually reaped the benefits of a settled team, and if you talk to any Spurs fan, they will probably be more worried about contracts rather than signings.

Toby Alderweireld had his contract extended by an extra season this year, good news on the surface, but this also activated a release clause of £25m for the summer.

Unless Spurs can get Toby to agree to stay at Spurs, he could either be on his way this year, or on a free in 2020.

Christian Eriksen’s contract is also throwing up some problems, as the Great Dane is well into the last 18 months of his deal.

Again, Spurs must convince him to sign soon, or risk losing him this summer for a decent fee, or in 2020 for nothing.

Playing For 90 now throw up the dilemma that Tottenham may actually only have the funds to offer one of their stars a bumper new deal.

Which one would you choose?
