The whole of the United Kingdom is locked in a fierce debate regarding Brexit. With ‘no deal’ now looking a possibility, a growing number of people are now calling for a ‘People’s Vote’ i.e a second referendum on whether the UK should leave the European Union.
While people in favor of idea contend that a second vote will allow the masses to make a more informed choice now that they are more aware of the consequences, those in opposition to the idea contend that having a second vote dilutes the point of having referendums.
Needless to say, this is an issue that has divided the country. So, it is not one that professional athletes have been too keen on expressing their opinion on.
However, Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier has decided to buck the trend and express his opinion on the issue. The England midfielder took to Twitter to convey his support for the idea of a second referendum.
The 25-year-old tweeted the following:

While some would view Eric’s tweet as “brave”, one would think the club wouldn’t be too happy about the midfielder potentially alienation half the fan base.
