Tottenham midfielder receives Euro 2020 snub

Tottenham Hotspur pair Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko have both received the call up from France to be part of their squad for this summer’s rescheduled Euro 2020.

Didier Deschamps has decided against naming Tanguy Ndombele in his 26-man squad with the 52-year-old deciding to opt for N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Adrien Rabiot, Corentin Tolisso, Moussa Sissoko as his midfield options.

Ndombele had reclaimed his place in the Tottenham Hotspur starting eleven under Jose Mourinho this season which led to him being recalled to the national side in March where he played 82 minutes of a 2-0 World Cup qualifier victory against Kazakhstan and was an unused substitute three days later in Bosnia (transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old has also failed to start any of Tottenham’s last three Premier League matches under Ryan Mason and did not feature in the Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City.

France are in Group F along with Hungary, Portugal and Germany but will first face Wales and Bulgaria in warm-up matches.
