A Swedish outlet has now provided a surprising detail about the new contract that Lucas Bergvall has signed with Tottenham, which none of the British outlets have reported on.
The Swede surpassed all expectations in his first season at Spurs, hitting the ground running despite making a massive jump from the Allsvenskan to the Premier League.
Bergvall won all of the end-of-the-season awards at Spurs, which is an unbelievable achievement for someone so young and reinforces why there is a lot of excitement in N17 about his future.
After a solid debut campaign, Bergvall signed a new six-year contract with Tottenham in May and it was reported at the time he had received a substantial salary increase, although the details of his new deal were not clear.

Lucas Bergvall is now one of Tottenham’s highest earners
Fotboll Direkt have now claimed that following his contract extension, Bergvall is now one of the highest-paid players at Tottenham.
The report says that the 19-year-old was rewarded with a ‘monster’ contract, which sees him earn €5m (£4.2m) per year, but could rise to €8m (£6.7m) per year including performance-based add-ons.
That puts him close to the top bracket of the earners at Spurs and the outlet says that for Tottenham to reward the 20-year-old with such a substantial pay rise is evidence of just how much they have been impressed by his development.
Tottenham’s transfer bill for Bergvall transfer been paid
Spurs paid an initial fee of just €9.8m (£8.1m) for the midfielder, but they would now have to pay a lot more after he hit all his performance-related add-ons.
According to reports from his homeland, Djurgardens will receive another €9.3m (£7.6m) from Tottenham for Bergvall in light of the club’s Europa League success, which means that all the bonus requirements agreed in the deal have been met.
Spurs will certainly not mind paying that amount as they appear to have their hands on a generational talent, who will be worth substantially more if he is put on the market right now.
