Tottenham midfielder ruled out for the season

As if Tottenham’s injury woes weren’t bad enough, promising young midfield star Luke Amos is now out for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

The central midfielder twisted his knee in an under 23 match against Blackburn this week.

The Evening Standard report that he will undergo surgery once the swelling goes down.

Luke Amos impressed during his spell in the team on the US pre season tour, and went on to make his Premier League debut at the start of the season against Newcastle.

The likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele have all been ruled out of Tottenham’s squad for tomorrow, and Amos would have likely taken up a spot on the bench.

Spurs are now running low on players who can operate in the middle of midfield, with only Harry Winks, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama as senior out-and-out central players. The likes of Moussa Sissoko can cover in that position.

Unfortunately, Amos will not be appearing again this season. We wish him a speedy recovery.
