Tottenham Hotspur are now reported to be monitoring a 52-year-old manager who had an impressive Champions League campaign this season.

For a club appearing in the new format of the Champions League for the first time, Tottenham Hotspur did put in a decent show.

Spurs finished in the top eight of the league phase and made it to the last 16, although their run was brought to an end in that round by Atletico Madrid, who beat them 7-5 on aggregate.

The Lilywhites, however, were not the only team to impress, with Galatasaray, Bodo Glimt and Sporting among the sides to also put on a good show in this season’s edition of the Champions League.

A fresh report from Tuttomercatoweb now claims that Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Turkish tactician showed what he is about in the Champions League this term, securing victories over the likes of Liverpool and Juventus.

His side did not secure an automatic qualification spot in the league phase, but they impressed against the Old Lady in the knockout play-off round before Liverpool overturned a one-goal deficit in the last 16 at Anfield to knock Buruk’s side out.

Spurs are now said to be looking at him, amid claims that Igor Tudor’s time in the Tottenham dugout is far from guaranteed.

Okan Buruk contract situation attracts Spurs and Lazio

Okan Buruk’s current contract with Galatasaray is expected to end on June 30 ahead of the summer window, which means he will be out of a job before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

That makes him an intriguing prospect, but Tottenham are not the only ones said to be interested in the 52-year-old.

Lazio are also showing interest in Buruk amid growing tension between Maurizio Sarri and president Claudio Lotito.

In his four-year spell with Galatasaray, the Turkish manager won six trophies, including four Turkish Super Lig titles, one Turkish Cup and one Supercup.
