Toby Alderweireld has given a stark warning to Tottenham Hotspur as we approach the summer transfer window.
The fact that Tottenham still do not know which league they will be playing in next season is affecting their ability to plan for the summer window.
Reports indicate that there will be a mass exodus from Spurs if they get relegated, with the club needing to significantly reduce their wage bill if they go down to the Championship.
In fact, reports have claimed that Tottenham are making two different plans for the summer window, depending on whether they remain in the Premier League or not.

Toby Alderweireld urges Tottenham to undertake a massive clearout
Alderweireld believes that the current Spurs squad’s limitations have been exposed with their performances this season.
He warned his former employers that they could find themselves in the same situation next season if they do not make big changes this summer and back Roberto De Zerbi.
Alderweireld told ESPN Netherlands: “The squad really needs a thorough clear-out. This season reveals what kind of mettle the players are truly made of. Furthermore, you need to have a clear vision. Give the manager time and ensure that the playing personnel improves.
“Otherwise, you’ll find yourself in the exact same situation again next year. It’s going to be very difficult regardless. Honestly, when you watch them play, you don’t give them much of a chance.”
Spurs have made big summer plans if they stay up
According to reports, Tottenham are ready to undertake an ambitious rebuild of their squad this summer should they manage to avoid relegation.
Additionally, it has been suggested that the Spurs owners are ready to remove the club’s self-imposed wage cap in order to give them a chance of competing for top players in the market.
De Zerbi is expected to have plenty of power in Tottenham’s squad building, but the Italian first has to ensure that the Lilywhites get themselves out of the perilous situation they find themselves in at the moment.
