Tottenham Hotspur have now pushed ahead in the race to sign Fiorentina midfielder Nicolo Fagioli this summer.
With the Premier League season now over and Tottenham Hotspur securing their top-flight status, the club’s attention is now set to turn towards transfer activity.
Roberto De Zerbi made this clear in his post-match press conference after the Everton game, stating that now is the time to rebuild and calling on those higher up to begin the process.
Spurs will be looking to strengthen several areas of their pitch, from the goalkeeper to the forward line, as they aim to improve on their disastrous 25/26 campaign.
In the last couple of months, Spurs Web has reported on Tottenham’s interest in Fiorentina midfielder Nicolo Fagioli, and there now appears to be movement in that regard.

Tottenham lead race for Nicolo Fagioli transfer
This report comes from Corriere Fiorentino, who state that Tottenham remain keen on signing Nicolo Fagioli during the summer transfer window.
However, Spurs are not the only side interested, with AC Milan also monitoring the central midfielder, who only joined La Viola permanently last summer.
Still, despite the interest from the Serie A giants, it is Spurs who are said to be leading the race to sign the Fiorentina man.
Roberto De Zerbi could be key to Tottenham deal
Spurs Web has since relayed that Roberto De Zerbi is a big admirer of Fagioli, and the latest reports appear to back up that claim.
It is understood that the Spurs boss will be key if Tottenham are to secure the services of the technically gifted midfielder.
De Zerbi is said to favour midfielders in the mould of Fagioli, given Manuel Locatelli’s rise during their time together at Sassuolo.
Landing Fagioli this summer is also not entirely unrealistic, with Fiorentina potentially open to selling the midfielder, whose contract runs until 2028.
Should they wait until next year, they may no longer be able to demand a significant fee, while Spurs Web has previously reported that £15m could be enough to land Fagioli.
