Tottenham announce new pre-season friendly match details

Tottenham have officially announced they will face Rangers in a friendly as part of their pre-season plans this summer.

The fixture, set to be held at the Gers’ Ibrox Stadium, will take place on Saturday, July 23 with a kick-off time of 3 pm.

Both sides last met in a friendly in July 2004 with Rangers coming out on top with a 2-0 home victory.

Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s side are currently pursuing rivals Celtic to retain their Scottish Premiership crown after they secured their first league title in 10 seasons last term.

They have also enjoyed success on the European stage this season having booked a date in the Europa League semi-finals against RB Leipzig.

The upcoming friendly against Rangers in Glasgow will be the Premier League side’s second confirmed travel location after the club announced it will also embark on a tour of South Korea.

It was also confirmed that the match will be shown live on the club’s upcoming streaming service, SPURSPLAY.

This should be a good warm-up for Spurs ahead of the new season against a team that has been doing well on the domestic and European front.

Hopefully, by this point, Antonio Conte will have a group of players he is happy with and able to count upon to bring about a successful campaign.
