Tottenham officially announce their first signing of the summer under Conte

Tottenham Hotspur have now officially confirmed the signing of Ivan Perisic, who joins on a two-year contract until 2024 (Tottenham).

The Croatian international moves to the North London club on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Inter Milan.

Inter were reportedly keen to keep the 33-year-old and offered him a new two-year deal to remain at the San Siro, but he instead decided to move to the Premier League (Guardian).

Perisic has plenty of first-hand knowledge of working under Antonio Conte, having won the Scudetto with Inter in the 2021/22 campaign while the Spurs boss was still in charge.

At 33, Perisic does not fit the typical profile of a Daniel Levy signing and just goes to show that Conte has been given the keys to drive the transfers this summer.

Perisic is a winner, an experienced winner at that, who can come into the side and hit the ground running while also allowing Ryan Sessegnon plenty of time to learn from the World Cup finalist at left wing-back.
