Tottenham officially confirm three pre-season fixtures ahead of the new campaign

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will be playing three pre-season friendlies against EFL clubs ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The team will resume first-team training on Monday after a short pre-season break.

Tottenham have quite a packed schedule in the first month, with Premier League games sandwiched between what could potentially be three Europa League qualifiers and an international break to boot.

Spurs have confirmed that they will prepare for the season with friendly games against League One side Ipswich Town and Championship outfits Reading and Birmingham City.

All three games will be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the clash against Ipswich scheduled for 22 August.

Jose Mourinho’s men will then play Reading and Birmingham on successive days the following weekend (28 and 29 August).

The club have revealed that all three matches, which are scheduled to be played behind closed doors, will be streamed live on the official website.

Hopefully, the quick turnaround between the seasons will mean that players will find it easier to reach match fitness. The pre-season matches should be a good opportunity to see if Mourinho and his coaching staff have a new system in mind after the acquisition of Hojbjerg.
