Tottenham have revealed that Giovani Lo Celso will be out until the end of October with a hip injury. There has been much speculation over the extent of the injury he sustained in the Argentina game against Chile on Friday.
The club revealed the news in a post on their official website. The post states: ‘Giovani Lo Celso has returned early to Hotspur Way after being withdrawn from the Argentina squad due to a hip injury.’
‘The attacking midfielder sustained the injury during his national team’s match against Chile. He will now undergo a period of rehabilitation and is expected to return to training with the first team towards the end of October.’
This is more bad news for Spurs on the injury front. Tanguy Ndombele missed the last two matches, including the North London Derby, with a groin injury. Ryan Sessegnon is also just returning to full training after an injury .
This injury means that Spurs will have to rely even more heavily on unsettled playmaker Christian Eriksen as there aren’t really any fully fit playmakers in the squad at the moment. The lack of depth within the Tottenham side could be exposed over the next few months as the Champions League groups stages begin.

This is bad news for Spurs as fans had been excited to see their new signing in action. Luckily Dele Alli is returning from his injury and will be able to lessen the creative burden on Eriksen.
