Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race for a Real Madrid teenager, who will be allowed to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Spurs have reinforced their defence with three experienced additions this summer, and according to reports, Tottenham are now working on two big-money deals for midfielders.

The Lilywhites are also expected to prioritise strengthening their wide areas, with the club allegedly wanting to add two wingers to their squad.

Their chase for a top-class winger has now taken them to the Spanish capital, where a highly-rated young player has now become available.

Tottenham eyeing loan deal for Real Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono

According to a report in Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Real Madrid starlet Franco Mastantuono is on the Lilywhites’ radar.

The Argentina international is not in Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season, and the La Liga giants have thus decided to loan him out this summer.

Los Blancos have already ‘received calls from several clubs’ regarding Mastantuono, with Tottenham one of the teams interested in a temporary deal for the player.

However, the Lilywhites face intense competition for the 18-year-old, with Villarreal, FC Porto, Sporting, Benfica, Inter Milan, Juventus, River Plate and Stade Rennais also on his trail.

Spurs are not the front-runners to land Mastantuono

Sport say that a return to Argentina is not on the cards for Mastantuono, who wants to continue in Europe, which rules out his former club, River Plate.

It is revealed that, as things stand, Villarreal are in ‘pole position’ to land the teenager and have expressed a willingness to meet the conditions of the loan transfer set by Madrid.

The outlet adds that Madrid want assurances of game time for Mastantuono and are not willing to add a purchase clause in the loan deal.

It is further revealed that the Spanish club would prefer to loan the youngster to a club that will play in the Champions League next season, which potentially makes it harder for Tottenham to secure an agreement.
