Tottenham player asked if he will see out current contract

It has been a strange old season for Tottenham so far this year, but perhaps once of the weird standout moments has been the reinvention of ex-flop Moussa Sissoko.

The Frenchman joined Tottenham for around £30m in 2016 (SkySports) after an impressive Euros campaign with his nation of France.

It is fair to say that up until this point, he has been far from a success at the club, with a bunch of lack-lustre performances in a Lilywhite shirt.

However, Sissoko has completely turned his career around this campaign, as fans have gone from groaning upon his inclusion to chanting his name around Wembley.

The Frenchman looks fit, fast, and strong, and most importantly he looks as if he’s putting in more effort than ever.

He is now a very trusted member of Pochettino’s squad, and has been used well and plentifully this season.

The 29-year-old is contracted at the club until 2021, and he talked to Foot Mercato about whether he will see this time through.

He told Foot Mercato: “If I say yes, it would be lying. If I say no, it would be lying too because in football everything goes fast. I can say no and for example, tomorrow something happens, the club wants to sell me or I want to leave.

“It’s hard to answer that question. I move from day to day. For the moment, I feel good there and it is the most important. I try to keep moving forward and growing. We’ll see what happens in the future. But for now, I do not have my head elsewhere.”
