Tottenham player backs new Leeds United signing to do well in Premier League

Davinson Sanchez has backed his compatriot Luis Sinisterra to succeed at Leeds United next season (AS report).

Sanchez was resigned to a bit-part role in Antonio Conte’s Spurs side last season, making only 23 Premier League appearances, 17 of those being starts (TransferMarkt).

Despite being unable to cement himself in the starting eleven, the Colombian was assured in his performances when deputising for an injured Cristian Romero in a crucial final period of Spurs’ 2021/22 campaign (Football.London).

Football.London now suggest that Conte is happy with Sanchez’s attitude and the Italian trusts him enough to keep him in his squad for next season.

The Colombian has been discussing new Leeds winger Sinisterra (Sky Sports), claiming that his international compatriot has everything he needs to shine in the Premier League.

He said: “Leeds are competitive; it’s a team that everyone knows because of what Bielsa did for a long time.

“Lucho has been doing very well; he played in the final of a European tournament, and he has earned his place in Holland.

“He has conditions and qualities. He has already shown that in the national team.

“If he has the chance to come, he will compete, and I think what he has in his favour is that this is a league of duels, and he is very strong in duels, and he will be able to make a difference like Lucho Diaz. If he comes, the best of luck.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I have always loved Dav, even if he has frustrated me at times. He seems like a hard worker and definitely wants the best for the team.

If Leeds’ new winger is as good as Sanchez gives him credit for, let’s hope that Sinisterra does not show his qualities whilst playing against Spurs
