Tottenham player hobbled off injured last night in international fixture

Joe Rodon was withdrawn after seemingly picking up an injury in Wales’ 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands on Tuesday.

Rodon did not start a single Premier League game for Tottenham throughout the 2021/22 campaign (Transfermarkt) and struggled to get a look in after Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm in November of last year.

However, the former Swansea man has continued impressing for Wales in the middle of their back three, with his solid display against the Ukrainians two weeks ago helping the Dragons book a place in the Qatar World cup.

The 24-year-old is one of several players who Spurs are expected to cash in on this summer, with the North London club allegedly looking to bring in two new centre-backs (Football.London).

Rodon started for Wales in their Nations League clash against the Dutch yesterday but hobbled off the pitch in the 67th minute with a thigh problem and was replaced by former Spurs defender Chris Gunter.

Meanwhile, Ben Davies played all ninety minutes for Robert Page’s side while Steven Bergwijn had a cameo for the Dutch after coming on for Noa Lang on 73 minutes.

Spurs Web Opinion

Both Spurs and Rodon will be hoping that the injury is not serious as that could derail a potential summer move. I suspect that the centre-back was only taken off as a precaution rather than it being a case of him not being able to continue. We should get more information on this within the next day or two.
