Tottenham player makes surprise appearance in top ten statistic

It hasn’t been plain sailing for Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris this season as he has struggled with life on and off the pitch.

After the career highs of captaining his country to a World Cup win in the summer, Lloris’ form has dropped significantly.

The Frenchman returned from Russia to get caught drink driving by police and has struggled with his game ever since.

Lloris has looked far from comfortable when coming off his line and dealing with crosses in the box, even picking up a late red card in the Champions League against PSV.

However, despite this sad fall from grace, Lloris has still strangely found himself included in a top ten list for the season so far.

WhoScored created a top ten list of the statistically best performing players in the Premier League after 12 games.

It is far from surprising to see the likes of Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling topping the list, but Hugo Lloris makes a surprise 9th place appearance.

The French keeper has an overall rating of 7.39 out of ten according to WhoScored, the highest performing goal keeper.

The full list looks like this: 1. Hazard 2. Sterling 3. David Silva 4. Aguero 5. Salah 6. Fernandinho 7. Mane 8. Bernardo Silva 9. Lloris 10. Sigurdsson
