The full-time whistle has blown in the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, and it is time for our player ratings.
Tottenham full-time player ratings vs Nottingham Forest
Antonin Kinsky – The Czech international was called into action in the first half when Gibbs-White was through on goal and made a fine save, although it was flagged as offside. In the second half, Forest did find the back of the net after Gibbs-White went through on goal and this time successfully chipped the Spurs shot-stopper. Williams then turned the ball in, but the goal was disallowed after a handball. He came close to assisting Marmoush. 7.
Pedro Porro – He created the best chance in the first half after playing Marmoush in, but the Egyptian failed to convert. In the second half, Porro continued to offer an attacking threat, often looking to invert when Kudus came on instead of overlapping. 7.5.
Jan Paul van Hecke – He continued to showcase his passing ability, particularly in the first half, where he looked to get Spurs on the front foot from deep. In the second half, Spurs had to do a lot of defending and the centre-back held his own. 7.5.
Micky van de Ven – The pacy centre-back was the best performer for Tottenham in the first half, as he was immense with his defending, sweeping things up well and covering for Udogie. In the second half, he continued with his impressive defensive display as he helped Tottenham to their first clean sheet. 8.
Destiny Udogie – His first start for Tottenham and Udogie did look pretty solid all through when he was on the pitch. In the first 45, he had to pick his moments to overlap Tel and he did get beyond him while often staying high up. Spurs did not concede while he was on the pitch before he was subbed off for Robertson. 6.
Sandro Tonali – The midfielder looked pretty solid in the first half for Tottenham, often getting on the ball while also being strong in the tackle. In the second half, Forest grew into the game and so did some of his influence on proceedings. He did look to show his defensive prowess when Gibbs-White chipped Kinsky, but he could not clear off the line. 6.
Rodrigo Bentancur – He showed his quality in the first half, doing the simple things well, often tidy on the ball with his passing while offering defensive cover with a couple of good interceptions and tackles. In the second half, he had to defend a lot more and headed away countless Forest crosses. He ended the game with a whopping 18 defensive contributions. Underrated performance. 8.
Conor Gallagher – Had a good chance early on in the second half after Tonali found him with a cutback, but he failed to test the goalkeeper, with his effort blocked after taking too many touches. The opportunity was flagged for offside. Such a chance did not come for the Englishman in the first half, with the midfielder often covering at full-back when Porro overlaps. 5.
Savio – He did not create much in the first half, although he showed a willingness to run at the Forest backline. In the second half, a bit more intensity and urgency was injected into his play, with Savio often looking to put crosses into the box. His final ball, though, was lacking. 5.
Omar Marmoush – He had a chance in the first half after a Porro pass, but he fired wide, although the referee blew for a foul in the build-up. In the second half, he did have a good chance to give Spurs the lead after a lovely pass from Kinsky, but he fired high and wide. 5.
Mathys Tel – The winger barely had a sniff in the first half with Forest doubling up on him. However, in the second half, he began to see more of the ball and offered so much threat out on the left, but again the final ball was lacking, with his crosses often being overhit. 5.
Substitutes
Mohammed Kudus – The Ghana international came on for Savio and offered some threat out wide for Tottenham with his direct running, but again the end product was lacking for the Lilywhites. He did create a good chance late on for Solanke, but the forward headed high. 6.
Andy Robertson – He replaced Udogie and went in at full-back for Tottenham. Following his introduction, Spurs were forced to defend as Forest upped the ante. 5.
Mykhailo Mudryk – The winger replaced Tel late in the second half and played on the left, but barely saw any of the ball. 5.
Dominic Solanke – Came on for Omar Marmoush in the final seven minutes of the game. He had a fine opportunity late in the second half, but his effort was high. N/A.
Mateus Fernandes – Replaced Conor Gallagher in the final stages of the game and barely influenced proceedings. N/A.
