Pierluigi Gollini has been left confused by Eric Dier missing out on a recall to the England squad after commenting on his Tottenham teammate’s latest Instagram post.
Dier featured as Spurs secured a crucial 3-1 win over West Ham on Sunday to move up to fifth in the Premier League within three points of fourth-placed Arsenal.
Heung-min Son netted twice after Kurt Zouma turned in a cross into his own net, with Harry Kane playing a role in all three of Spurs’ goals.
Spurs also looked defensively sound for the most part, with Dier producing a dominant and confident display against West Ham live wire Michail Antonio.
The 28-year-old has been resurgent under Antonio Conte and looked to have put his name in the hat for an England call-up, having been absent from the national side for nearly a year.
But Dier’s return to the Three Lions fold will have to wait a little longer, having been left out of the latest squad for upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast – a decision which Gollini was left particularly surprised with.

Dier has been really good throughout this season and his absence from the team was really felt earlier this year.
There are a couple of names on England’s list that definitely raise eyebrows, though, considering Dier has played well enough to have been in with a shout.
