Tottenham player receives his first-ever England call-up

Tottenham Hotspur youngster, Oliver Skipp, has received his first call-up to the England under-21 squad this week.

The Young Lions are preparing for their Euro U21 qualifiers against the likes of Hungary and Slovenia over the next month.

The debut call-up is certainly well-deserved for the young midfielder after he has made leaps and bounds for Spurs over the last year.

Skipp made a total of 12 appearances for Spurs last season, including eight in the Premier League. Pochettino is clearly looking to increase those numbers as Skipp has played in two of the three matches already this season (Wikipedia).

With the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Victor Wanyama, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Giovani Lo Celso and more at the club, it is a big compliment that Poch still sees Skipp as an important cog in the machine.

Let’s hope that Skipp can get some minutes for England and really kick on this season for club and country.
