Tottenham player reveals ‘several clubs’ have come forward to sign him this summer

Steven Bergwijn has admitted that several clubs have expressed interest in signing him from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Bergwijn has already publicly expressed his intention to leave the North London club this summer in search of regular game time (AD) after warming the bench for much of the 2021/22 campaign.

Ajax are expected to make a second offer worth around £20m including add-ons for the former PSV Eindhoven man after seeing their first offer of around £15m turned down by the North London club last week (The Daily Mirror).

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs want €30m (£25.6m) for the 24-year-old, who is said to be generating a lot of interest around Europe.

Two Premier League sides in the form of Crystal Palace and Brighton are also thought to be among those in the race for the Spurs winger (Ekrem Konur).

Bergwijn has now reiterated his intention to leave Tottenham amidst interest from ‘several clubs’.

The winger told De Telegraaf: “Several clubs have come forward. Now I just have to find a solution for myself that benefits both parties. I’m leaving.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I understand why the Dutch media are constantly posting these questions to Bergwijn, who is now with the Netherlands squad for their Nations League campaign. However, I honestly think it would help the 24-year-old’s case to keep his mouth shut until a move is finalised.
