It looks as if Tottenham have parted ways with another young talent this week, as 22-year-old Shayon Harrison vanished from the club’s official under-23 squad list.
Harrison made his debut for Spurs back in 2016 when he came on late in a League Cup match against Liverpool in October.
Since then, the forward has spent three seasons out on loan with three different clubs to progress as a player.
He spent the 2016/17 season at Yeovil Town, where he played 15 matches and scored one goal. He then moved to Southend United for the 2017/18 campaign, failing to score in 13 matches (Wikipedia).
Last season, Harrison was sent all the way to Australia to play for Melbourne City in the A-League, where he scored four goals in 11 appearances for the club.
As a forward, these numbers just aren’t that impressive, especially for a player who is now 22-years-old.
The rumour circulating on Twitter is that Harrison turned down a one-year extension to leave the club, but this claim is so far unfounded.
A statement from Spurs will surely be posted in the coming days.
