Tottenham player wins international tournament

Tottenham Hotspur have another international tournament winner within their ranks after last night, even if the club itself is struggling to win trophies of late.

Spurs youngster, Maksim Paskotsi, helped his native Estonia to lift the Baltic Cup after defeating Lativia 2-1.

Paskotsi was substituted on in the 27th minute when the scores were at 1-0 before helping his side to grind out the all-important victory.

For those who do not know, the Baltic Cup is an international football competition that primarily involves the three Baltic state nations, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. However, Finland have also been involved as a guest in the past.

The competition is contested every two years and Estonia have actually gone without the trophy for the past 83 years, with their last victory coming back in 1938. Latvia have won it 13 times and Lithuania 10.

Tottenham’s central defender, Maksim Paskotsi, is still just 18-years-old and this is a huge achievement for the youngster in the early stages of his career.
