Tottenham player’s agent claims Russian team are interested in signing him

Davinson Sanchez looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and Russian side Spartak Moscow have emerged as a possible destination for the 27-year-old.

Spurs endured a miserable season all over the field last year, but without a doubt the weakest aspect of the Tottenham squad was their defence.

The Lilywhites’ backline conceded 63 goals in the Premier League during the 2022/23 campaign. Only five teams performed worse than that and three of those sides were relegated from the division last term.

New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has already told the club’s board that he needs to bring in a new central defender this summer to solve that problem area (90 Min).

It seems Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven are the players being lined up to reinforce the defence in North London (Fabrizio Romano).

With just one year left on his current contract, Davinson Sanchez is almost certainly one of the names who will make way this summer and it is thought the player is keen to leave Spurs (Daily Mail).

Spartak Moskow keen on Davinson Sanchez

The latest club to be linked with the Colombian defender is Spartak Moskow, with the player’s agent hinting a move to Russia could be on the cards for his client.

The FV Players Agency told Sport Express: “Spartak is really interested in Sanchez. But so far there has been nothing specific.”

Sanchez has also attracted the attention of Flamengo (Globo), while Turkish giants Galatasaray are believed to have offered €9m (£7.7m) for the Spurs man (Sporx).

Spurs Web Opinion

Davinson Sanchez is almost certain to leave Spurs this summer and I have a feeling we will be accepting offers of under £10m for him.

I can’t imagine him wanting to play in Russia however, due to the cultural elements of that country.
