Tottenham players react on Twitter to historic Champions League win

Tottenham Hotspur made history in their new stadium once again last night, as the won the first ever European night under the lights at the ground.

That makes it two wins out of two at the new stadium, with no curse in sight for Spurs.

Spurs recovered from an early scare when VAR awarded Man City a penalty after a harsh Danny Rose handball. The resulting Aguero spot kick was saved by Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham then went on to control the game, but had nothing to show for their efforts until the 78th minute when Heung Min Son smashed home a late winner.

This sends Spurs into the away leg at the Etihad with a narrow lead, and the knowledge that one early away goal could take the tie out of City’s reach.

The Tottenham players were obviously overjoyed at the result and took to social media to address the fans.
