Time is ticking on the January transfer window, but Tottenham may find it fairly easy to land their latest target, given he’d be eager to join.
It’s not been the most successful transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur, with Conor Gallagher and Souza the only new faces through the door this month.
While it’s central midfield and the left wing that are thought to be key priorities for Spurs in January, there’s also been plenty of talk regarding the goalkeeper area.
Guglielmo Vicario’s future is in doubt, and the Lilywhites have been eyeing up replacements. But, they may also need a new number two, as well.

Sam Johnstone linked with shock Tottenham transfer
That’s because Antonin Kinsky is increasingly likely to leave the club, with West Ham getting closer to snapping him up on a loan with option to buy deal.
In turn, Spurs may be ready to make a “shock move” for Wolves stopper Sam Johnstone, who would become “cover” for Vicario. That’s according to Alan Nixon, who reports on the surprising development.
It’s said Johnstone “would jump at the chance” to join Tottenham after losing his place at Wolves, and the incentive of staying in the Premier League while his current club heads for relegation makes it an easy decision.
With Jose Sa now looking like the number one at Wolves, Johnstone is eager to prove himself elsewhere. It’s known he would face a real challenge to get first-team minutes at Spurs, but it sounds like the 32-year-old is more than up for it.
Spurs should keep Antonin Kinsky
The idea of letting a talented and fairly young goalkeeper like Antonin Kinsky leave, while replacing him with Sam Johnstone, just doesn’t make any sense.
Obviously, Spurs will make money if they do this double deal, but that shouldn’t be the objective here. Vicario is never going to be seriously challenged by someone of Johnstone’s quality, given he can’t even get a game at Wolves.
One thing’s for sure, Spurs fans will be very disappointed if this is the final bit of business the club does this month.
With Gallagher, Johnstone, and Robertson, the only thing that makes sense is that Tottenham are perhaps trying to solve their homegrown problem in order to unlock space for more big-name signings. There is just one problem… the big-name signings don’t appear to be coming.
