Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a player who has established himself as a regular part of the Juventus backline, but they could face competition from a Premier League rival.
Last week, Tottenham confirmed the return of Fabio Paratici in an official role, with the Italian set to work together with Johan Lagne as sporting director of the club.
According to reports, Paratici will focus mainly on the transfer windows and player recruitment, with the 53-year-old thus set to lead the Lilywhites’ plans in the January window.
There have already been suggestions that Paratici could look to raid his former club, Juventus, in January, and it has now emerged that a Bianconeri defender is on the Lilywhites’ radar.

Tottenham could battle Newcastle United for Juventus star Pierre Kalulu
This update comes from Tutto Juve, who claim that the versatile defender Pierre Kalulu is now on Spurs’ wishlist.
Kalulu joined Juve on loan from AC Milan last season before the Bianconeri took up the option to make the deal permanent in the recent summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has become a mainstay on the side this season under Igor Tudor, who has used him as a right-back, a right-wing-back and as a central defender.
The France international’s displays have caught the attention of Premier League sides, with Spurs and Newcastle potentially set to battle it out for his services.
What fee do Juventus want from Spurs for Pierre Kalulu?
Tutto Juve say that even though the youngster has played every minute of every game for the Old Lady in Serie A and the Champions League this season, they are open to cashing in on him.
This is because Juventus are aware that the capital gain from Kalulu’s sale can help it reconstruct their squad, which they are keen to do.
However, it is explained that the plan at the Allianz Stadium is to sell the defender next summer, with the Italian giants wanting a fee of over €30m (£26.2m) for the former Milan man.
