Tottenham predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest as Mathys Tel gets a chance to shine

Spurs are preparing for a return to Premier League action with a clash against Nottingham Forest next on the agenda, and we have now attempted to predict Thomas Frank’s Tottenham XI.

Attention turns swiftly to the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur following their emphatic 3-0 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League.

Thomas Frank and his side will be hoping to make it three victories on the bounce as they continue their resurgence, having gone the whole of November without a league victory.

A stern test awaits as Spurs travel to the City Ground to take on a Nottingham Forest team that has picked up nine points from their last five games, the sixth-best return in the division during that spell.

Frank has decisions to make regarding personnel, and we have predicted his likely XI for Sunday’s clash.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: After keeping back-to-back clean sheets, we do not expect Frank to change things in goal. We expect Vicario to continue between the sticks.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: The full-back has looked more positive for Tottenham in the last two weeks as he has been eager to join attacks. Spurs will need more of that forward thinking on Sunday.

Centre-back – Cristian Romero: It is a big away game for Tottenham, and we do not expect Frank to alter his back line, so Romero should start.

Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: Picked up a yellow card last time out against Prague and is set to miss Spurs’ next Champions League fixture, but that has no bearing here. The Dutchman should continue in the Premier League.

Left-back – Djed Spence: Destiny Udogie is set to miss out until January, and that should allow Spence to have more game time on the left.

Pivot midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: Joao Palhinha was the one who received minutes against Prague, and we expect Frank to recall Bentancur to his midfield in place of the Portuguese.

Pivot midfielder – Archie Gray: The youngster is slowly becoming a reliable figure in the middle of the pitch, and after starting in back-to-back games, we expect him to continue once more.

Centre midfielder – Xavi Simons: The Dutchman scored two goals in his last two starts with a well-taken penalty against Prague. His confidence is high; we expect Frank to stick with him.

Right winger – Mohammed Kudus: Scored his second Tottenham goal from the spot on Tuesday. He remains a bright spark for Tottenham. We expect him to feature again against Forest.

Striker – Randal Kolo Muani: The forward was rested in midweek with Richarlison leading the line instead. We do expect Muani to return, which could see Richarlison move to the bench.

Left winger – Mathys Tel: The young wide man has had to bide his time recently, but we expect that he could be recalled to the starting XI.
