Tottenham proved one crucial thing against Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur ran rampant against their London rivals at Wembley yesterday, running out to a 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane, and Heung Min Son proved to be far too much for the struggling Chelsea defence.

Not only did this three points propel Spurs above the Blues up into third, but it also removed the title of unbeaten from their rivals’ season.

This also proved one crucial thing for Poch and Daniel Levy, a tight knit developed squad of quality players can be better than a team of big money signings.

Chelsea were well beaten by a Spurs side with Wanyama, Dembele, Trippier, and Sanchez out injured, and Lamela, Moura, Vertonghen, and Winks only on the bench.

The Daily Mail claim that Chelsea’s £50m man Jorginho (BBC) wouldn’t get into the Tottenham team, with a central midfield of the likes of Winks and Dier who cost around £5m between them (BBC).

They also compared the £60m signing of Mahrez at City (BBC) to Tottenham’s £23m Moura (BBC).

Credit simply must be given to the Tottenham staff and players for creating such a powerful and high class team through building rather than buying at silly prices.
