Tottenham provide exciting Randal Kolo Muani update during international break

While the majority of the Tottenham squad is on international duty, Randal Kolo Muani has just taken a significant step towards returning to action.

The 26-year-old has made just one substitute appearance since his move to Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day and is still waiting for his Premier League debut.

Kolo Muani was sidelined due to a dead leg, with the injury taking longer to heal than many at Tottenham first thought.

The Frenchman’s injury has posed a major headache to Thomas Frank as Dominic Solanke also remains sidelined with an injury, but the Lilywhites have now received some good news on the on-loan Paris Saint-Germain man.

Randal Kolo Muani sees match action for Tottenham

Tottenham have now confirmed that the France international did get some minutes under his belt at Hotspur Way today.

Kolo Muani played 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Watford at the Spurs training ground. This represents a significant step in rebuilding his fitness after missing out on a pre-season due to the Club World Cup.

By the sounds of it, the striker came through the game unscathed and seems to be in line for his Premier League debut against Aston Villa on October 19.

Thomas Frank has reassured Muani about his Spurs role

Previously, some reports had indicated that Thomas Frank wants to use Kolo Muani as a wide player this season.

However, it was reported by L’Equipe a little over a week ago that the Tottenham boss had informed Kolo Muani that he would compete with Richarlison for the number nine role when he returns from injury.

The report explained that the on-loan PSG man was left reassured by his discussions with Frank and is determined to prove his worth at Spurs.
