Tottenham receive blow as rumoured transfer target says he is not going anywhere

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has now made it clear that he has no intention of leaving Leicester City this summer.

Dewsbury-Hall has been one of the best players on show across the Championship this season and has been one of the main driving forces behind Leicester’s promotion push, managing 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 league games so far (Transfermarkt).

It was reported by talkSPORT last month that the Foxes have to sell some assets this summer to offset their losses, with an exit from the King Power Stadium being on the cards for the midfielder this summer.

The report claimed that Tottenham are sniffing around the 25-year-old but face competition from Brighton, who have retained an interest in the player after their failed January move for him.

This was backed up last week by Football Insider, who said that the Foxes would be willing to sell their academy graduate for £30m in order to offset some of their losses.

Dewsbury-Hall wants to stay at Leicester City

However, Dewsbury-Hall has now made it clear that he wants to remain put at the Midlands club beyond this summer.

The midfielder said at Leicester’s the end of season awards (via BBC Sport’s Owynn Palmer-Atkin): “I’ve been at this club since I was eight years old. I’ve got no intention of leaving.”

The decision might be out of Dewsbury-Hall’s hands, given Leicester’s current financial predicament, with the Foxes having to sell some of their assets if they are to avoid a points deduction.

However, I doubt he is near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Morgan Gibbs-White likely to be preferred by the North London side.
