Tottenham receive January transfer boost from Celta Vigo star

Tottenham famously became the first Premier League club in history not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window this year.

While they started the season well with three wins from three, Tottenham have now succumbed to three straight defeats in all competitions.

Many believe that Pochettino will be given at least a small amount of money to spend in January to bolster the struggling squad, perhaps something that should have happened months ago.

One man who Tottenham have had their eye on, has spoken out about the possibility of a move come the new year.

Celta Vigo star Stanislav Lobotka has caught the attention of Spurs, Inter Milan, Barcelona, PSG and Napoli, with one of the clubs likely to make a bid for the Slovakian midfielder in the transfer window.

The 23-year-old stayed put in the summer, but has admitted that his Celta stay may be at an end: “We’ll see what happens in January,” he said.

“Yes, in the summer there were offers from different clubs, but I’ll play with Celta at least for half the season.

“It’s clear that all Celta players want to try and adventure with one of the bigger clubs in Europe. In football, everyone wants to play in the Champions League.

“I’m focused on doing well with Celta, then we’ll see what happens in January.”

The player is said to have a 42 million Euro price tag.
