Talks between Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan are continuing over Djed Spence as the Nerazzurri substantiated their interest in the defender with an opening offer.
Inter Milan have emerged as the clear frontrunners to land Spence over the last 24 hours, with the defender’s days at Tottenham now looking numbered.
Roberto De Zerbi has said he will not try to convince the full-back to stay at Spurs, suggesting that he is unable to guarantee regular starts to the 25-year-old.
As the new campaign fast approaches, it appears that the Serie A club are now looking to swiftly agree a deal with the North London club for the Tottenham man.
Inter Milan submit opening offer after agreeing personal terms with Tottenham’s Djed Spence
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Inter Milan have sent an official bid to Spurs, which is worth over €30m (£26m), with talks ongoing between the two clubs.
The journalist added that the former Middlesbrough man has already agreed personal terms with the reigning Serie A champions.
Romano wrote on X: “Inter sent opening official bid for Djed Spence to Tottenham as expected, talks ongoing between clubs at fee over €30m. Spence said yes to Inter contract conditions and now club hopeful to reach a club-to-club agreement.”
Inter’s offer falls short of Spurs’ valuation of Spurs
Gianluca Di Marzio has also backed up Romano’s claim, stating that the Nerazzurri have sent a bid of £26m for the Tottenham full-back.
However, he explained that Spurs had informed the Italian club this morning that they want €35m (£30m) plus bonuses for Spence.
He adds that discussions between the two clubs over the England international will continue, and there is ‘confidence’ that an agreement can be reached.
