Eintracht Frankfurt’s head coach and one of their most experienced centre-backs have issued stern warnings to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their battle at Deutsche Bank Park this evening.
Tottenham Hotspur know that an extremely difficult challenge awaits them in Frankfurt, with the Europa League quarterfinal tie all square after the first leg.
Some Spurs players are confident on the back of their performance in the first leg, but given their poor away record this season and Frankfurt’s formidable record at home, things could play out very differently from last week.
Ange Postecoglou has reiterated his belief that Tottenham can win, but it turns out that their counterparts are just as confident.

Tottenham warned by their Eintracht Frankfurt pair
Spurs’ opponents have not shied away from the war of words ahead of the big fixture, with one Frankfurt official hinting that Tottenham will not travel well.
Head coach Dino Toppmoller and centre-back Robin Koch have now added further fuel to the fire by warning the Spurs players that they will face an extremely intimidating atmosphere.
According to George Sessions, Toppmoller simply said: “They will feel it tomorrow”, while Koch added: “The stadium will be a lion’s den, but I don’t think Tottenham will give up too early.”
Why this game could shape Spurs’ course for years
While it is clear that Ange Postecoglou’s future at Spurs depends on the result of Thursday’s clash, the game could also have a huge bearing on the club’s trajectory over the next few years.
Lifting the Europa League will not only mean the world to Tottenham fans, but it will also secure entry into the Champions League, which the club desperately needs, particularly given Daniel Levy’s recent warning about Spurs’ unsustainable spending.
Progressing to the final four of the competition will completely change the mood around the club and get supporters dreaming of achieving something very special.
