Vasco Da Gama are attempting to tie up a deal for Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison before the Brazilian transfer window shuts in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It has been reported all day that Vasco are pushing to complete a deadline-day deal to sign Richarlison after he was left out of Spurs’ Premier League squad by Roberto De Zerbi.
However, the Brazilian club have just hours to complete the deal, with the deadline fast approaching.
Some outlets suggested this morning that Vasco and Spurs are yet to reach a financial agreement. While that now appears to have been sorted, there is another detail holding up the transfer.
Tottenham striker Richarlison yet to agree permanent move to Vasco
TEAMtalk have now revealed that Vasco have made a €20m (£17m) offer to Tottenham, which the North London club want to accept.
However, the move to the Brazilian club has not yet been given the green light by Richarlison, who is looking for a more short-term solution.
It is explained that while Vasco are ready to take the striker permanently, the 29-year-old would prefer a move until January before reassessing his options in the winter.
Spurs are thus waiting on Richarlison to make a final decision, with the Lilywhites keen to offload him after De Zerbi left him out of the squad.
Spurs not willing to terminate Richarlison’s contract
TEAMtalk backs up what other sources have reported over recent days, revealing that Richarlison’s representatives considered a legal challenge against Tottenham in an effort to terminate his contract.
However, the North London club have made it clear that they have no intention of cancelling the remaining nine months of the former Everton man’s deal.
Spurs also pointed out to Richarlison’s representatives that they hold an option to extend the deal until 2028, which allows them to retain his registration and preserve his market value.
