Dominic Solanke’s injury a huge blow to Tottenham

Tottenham have had rotten luck with injuries so far this season as they keep losing key players just as other ones return to action.

The latest to join the treatment table were Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson, two players who have played among the most minutes so far this season.

The pair joined Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Timo Werner, Yves Bissouma, and Wilson Odobert, who are all on the treatment table at the time of writing.

Spurs hope to have Solanke back for big game

Speaking about the striker’s injury, Postecoglou simply stated that he will be out for a ‘few weeks’ after an unfortunate training ground incident.

The Times have now provided more details on the 27-year-old’s issues, revealing that it is a knee injury that is keeping Tottenham’s record signing out.

The report claimed that Ange Postecoglou’s men are hopeful of having their marksman available for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semifinal against Liverpool.

Spurs go to Anfield on February 6, and they take a 1-0 lead with them from the first leg as they aim to seal passage to a Wembley final.

Richarlison’s return has softened the Solanke blow

There is no doubt that Solanke is a huge miss for Tottenham, not just due to his goal threat but also because of his tireless pressing off the ball.

The one silver lining for Postecoglou is that he now has Richalrison back, and the Brazilian’s confidence will have been boosted by the late consolation he scored at Goodison Park.

However, given Richarlison‘s own poor fitness record over the last 12 months, Postecoglou will be wary of having to manage the striker’s minutes.
