Ange Postecoglou has been nominated for August’s Manager of the Month award while James Maddison has been nominated for the Player of the Month award.

It is fair to say that many eyebrows were raised when Tottenham appointed Postecoglou in the summer, given that the Australian did not have any experience at the highest level.

In fact, some even suggested that the 58-year-old would be sacked by the North London club by Christmas (talkSPORT).

However, Postecoglou has proven his critics wrong so far, just as he has every step of the way throughout his career, not only leading Spurs to three wins out of four, but also instantly implementing the possession-based, high-intensity brand of football he is known for.

Postecoglou and Maddison up for awards already

The Tottenham boss has thus deservedly been nominated for the Manager of the Month Award, and fans can vote for him by clicking the below link:

One of the reasons why Postecoglou has been able to deliver the results he has at Spurs is because of the manner in which Maddison has hit the ground running since his arrival in the summer.

The 26-year-old, who was one of Australian’s first signings at Tottenham, has scored twice and provided two assists so far, and has been at the heart of most good things that the Lilywhites have put together.

Maddison has had an exemplary start to his Tottenham career but I am quite shocked that Yves Bissouma has not been nominated for the Player of the Month award.

The Mali international has arguably been the main driving force behind Spurs’ resurgence, and his ability to progress the ball up the pitch consistently has been one of the main reasons why the likes of Maddison have shined as much as they have.
