Tottenham release official update on Heung-min Son’s military service

Tottenham Hotspur have now released an official statement on Heung-min Son and his military service in South Korea.

The club have confirmed that Son will now begin his mandatory military service in his home country, starting this month.

The winger flew back to South Korea at the end of Match and is currently serving a quarantine period.

Son has been out of action ever since he fractured his arm in the match against Aston Villa in February. He picked up the issue in the opening minutes of the match but continued to play the full 90, even scoring a brace, including a last-minute winner.

The Spurs man flew to South Korea to have surgery on the injury, before returning to the UK. Spurs claim that Son is continuing to train and will return to North London yet again when he concludes his military service in May.

The Premier League continues to be suspended, so Heung-min Son should avoid missing any professional football or meaningful pre-season training.
