Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to eye a summer deal for Adam Wharton, who could be the subject of a major transfer battle.
Since his move from Blackburn Rovers to Crystal Palace in 2024, Wharton has established a reputation as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has been capped by England four times, and his consistent displays for the Eagles have made him a wanted man across the Premier League.
It has been widely reported over recent months that Spurs view Wharton as their dream midfield addition this summer, and the Lilywhites have now learned what they have to do to secure the youngster’s signature.

How much do Tottenham have to pay to land Adam Wharton?
The Daily Mail have now claimed that Wharton will be allowed to leave Selhurst Park for around £65m this summer.
If Spurs end up paying that, it would make the midfielder the club’s joint most expensive signing, alongside Dominic Solanke.
The report claims that Spurs ‘recognise his potential and astute passing’, but Wharton also has Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United as his admirers.
Additionally, Liverpool are also considering a move for the Palace star, but there are concerns at Anfield over whether he has the legs to run more for a possession-based team.
Why Spurs look unlikely to win the race for Wharton
Last month, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Wharton has set his sights on joining a Champions League club in the summer.
That may rule Tottenham out of the running, and we are now hearing an increasing number of reports stating that Man United have set the Spurs midfield target as their top transfer priority.
If the likes of United and Liverpool make a move, it is unlikely Wharton would consider a move to N17. The midfielder may even view a move to Tottenham as a backward step, given where the Lilywhites are in the table.
