Tottenham reveal position Ryan Mason will take at club next season

Tottenham Hotspur have now confirmed that Ryan Mason will be returning to his previous position of Head of Player Development within the academy.

This comes after the Spurs academy graduate stepped up to serve as the club’s interim head coach at the end of April this year when Jose Mourinho was sacked.

Mason led Spurs out in a Carabao Cup Final as well as numerous Premier League matches, including an entertaining final day victory of Leicester City.

Spurs say that Mason will have an overarching role with the academy lads from U17s to U23s.

The club also announced that Stuart Lewis has become the new U18s manager, while Dean Brill is the new academy goalkeeping coach.

Lewis was Tottenham’s former U16 head coach and is a life-long Spurs fan while Brill joins from Leyton Orient’s first-team coaching staff.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It’s nice to see Ryan Mason staying within the club. I was worried that he might choose to head into management after last season. Hopefully he can improve his skills at Spurs and become an assistant manager in the future.
