Tottenham reveal what number shirt Lo Celso will wear this season

New Tottenham Hotspur signing, Giovani Lo Celso, will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the club’s last number 18 this season.

Spurs have announced that Lo Celso will wear Fernando Llorente’s old shirt number, after the Spaniard had an iconic season in the Champions League last time out.

Llorente scored in the round of 16, the quarter-final against Man City, and set up the winner in the semi against Ajax. Good luck following that, Gio!

In all seriousness, Spurs have pulled off a great signing in the young Argentine, taking him on loan for the season from Real Betis with an option to buy next summer (Tottenham).

Tottenham first made a bid for the attacking midfielder way back in May at the very start of the transfer window, with the saga now running its full course (BBC).

Spurs are said to be paying around £55m for the midfield maestro (Guardian).

We can’t wait to see that 18 across his back when his debut finally rolls around!
